Can I automatically hide a bundle when a required product is out of stock?

Yes — Kitenzo can automatically take a bundle off your storefront the moment one of its required products sells out, and bring it back on its own once that product is restocked. Read on for how it works, then get in touch if you'd like it set up for your store.

What it does

If a bundle has required products — items every customer must include, like the trousers and top in a two-piece set — running out of stock on just one of them normally leaves the bundle visible but impossible to actually buy. This feature closes that gap:

• When a required product hits zero stock, the whole bundle disappears from your storefront — not just disabled or greyed out, but genuinely hidden from search, collections, recommendations and the Shop app.
• Anyone who still has a direct link to the bundle sees a short "this bundle is currently out of stock" message instead of the bundle page. That message is editable in Settings > Translations.
• Once the product is back in stock, the bundle reappears automatically — no action needed from you.
• Only required products trigger this. If an optional product in a step runs out, the bundle stays fully visible and purchasable.

How it works once it's set up

Once enabled for your store, there are two places this shows up:

• A store-wide "Hide a bundle when a required product is out of stock" checkbox in Settings > General.
• A per-bundle override on the bundle's Required products card, with three choices: Use the store default, Hide this bundle from the storefront, or Keep this bundle visible. This lets you switch the behavior on store-wide but exempt a specific bundle, or the reverse.

Inside the app, a bundle that's currently hidden this way shows an Out of stock badge along with a banner naming exactly which product caused it — so you can see at a glance which bundles are affected and why, without guessing.

A couple of details worth knowing:

• A bundle you've set to Draft keeps showing as "Draft" and "currently unavailable" — it doesn't switch to the out-of-stock message.
• Your own merchant preview links and the theme editor still show a hidden bundle on purpose, so you can keep working on its design. Only shoppers see it as hidden.

Is this a good fit for my bundles?

This is most useful for bundles built around required products — fixed sets, build-your-own bundles with mandatory components, or anything where the bundle simply can't be completed without a specific item. If your bundles are made entirely of optional products, this setting won't have anything to trigger on.
