How to add a gift note to your bundle
Kitenzo can add a note field to your bundle so customers can leave a message with their order — a gift note, delivery instructions, or anything else you'd like to collect. You configure the note's content once, then choose where it appears: in the sidebar, the bundle summary, the edit bundle modal, the footer bar, or as its own block anywhere on the page.
Before you start
This applies to the Core template visual editor. Your bundle must have been built using the Core Template. If you're using a legacy template, look for Add a note field in that template's own settings instead — it works separately from what's described here.
Set up the note itself
The note's label, placeholder text and rules are configured once and shared by everywhere you choose to show it.
- Open your bundle and select Launch design editor.
- Open Global settings and find the Notes section.
- Set Label — the text shown above the field (defaults to "Add a note").
- Set Placeholder text — optional example text shown inside the empty field.
- Turn on Required if a customer must fill in the note before they can add the bundle to their cart.
- Turn on Show in cart if you want the note's content included as a visible line item property on the order (it's always stored internally either way).
- Set a Character limit if you want to cap how long a note can be, or leave it blank for no limit.
- Optionally add Suggested messages — short preset messages customers can tap to fill in the field instead of typing their own.

Choose where the note appears
The note doesn't show anywhere by default — you turn it on in one or more of these places:
Sidebar
In the Sidebar settings, turn on Show notes to display the field above the sidebar's Add to Cart button.

Bundle Summary block
Select your Bundle Summary block and turn on Show notes to display the field above the price and Add to Cart button.

Footer bar or edit bundle modal
In the Footer settings, find Show notes. This is a dropdown with three options:
- Off — the note doesn't appear in the footer or the edit bundle modal (default for new bundles).
- In edit bundle modal — the note appears inside the modal a customer opens to review and edit their bundle. This option is greyed out if your footer's edit bundle modal itself is turned off.
- In footer bar — the note appears as a full-width expandable bar directly in the footer area, on both desktop and mobile, instead of inside the modal.

If you don't see the "In footer bar" option and only see a checkbox, this display mode is being rolled out gradually — contact Kitenzo support to have it turned on for your store.
Notes block (anywhere on the page)
For full placement flexibility, add a standalone Notes block from the block library's Bundle category and drop it wherever you like in the main canvas. You can add more than one — every note field you show, in any location, shares the same value, so a customer only has to fill it in once.
What customers see
- Wherever it's shown, the note field appears as an expandable field with your configured label (with an asterisk if it's required).
- If a character limit is set, a running count shows how much room is left.
- If the note is required and a customer tries to add the bundle to their cart without filling it in, they'll see an error and the field is highlighted for them to complete.
- Filling in the note in one location (for example the sidebar) also fills it in everywhere else it's shown, since it's all the same value.
Troubleshooting
- The note isn't showing up anywhere. Configuring it in Global Settings > Notes doesn't display it on its own — you still need to turn on "Show notes" in at least one location (sidebar, summary, footer, or add a Notes block).
- "In edit bundle modal" is greyed out in the Footer settings. That option needs the edit bundle modal itself turned on for your footer. Turn that on first, or use "In footer bar" instead.
- I don't see "In footer bar" as an option. This is a newer display mode being rolled out gradually. Contact Kitenzo support to have it enabled for your store.
- The note isn't showing on the order. Turn on "Show in cart" in Global Settings > Notes if you want it visible as a line item — otherwise it's still captured, just not shown as a separate visible line.
