How do I Auto-Add Products to Bundle Sections Using Shopify Tags

You can automatically populate products in a bundle section using Shopify product tags instead of manually picking products or performing a static collection import.

When a product receives a matching tag in Shopify, it is added to your bundle section automatically. When the tag is removed, the product drops from the bundle section without requiring any manual updates in Kitenzo.

Before You Start

Make sure you have the following in place before setting up tag-based auto-add:

• Access to your Kitenzo bundle editor with permission to edit sections.
• Access to your Shopify admin, so you can add and remove product tags.
• A tag you plan to use for the section (for example, Summer-Kit   ). This can be a tag you already use or a new one created just for this purpose.
• Note that only products that are active and published are eligible to be auto-added. Draft, archived, or unpublished products with the matching tag are ignored.

How to Set Up Dynamic Tag Syncing

Follow these steps to link a bundle section to a Shopify product tag:

1. Open the Kitenzo app and select the bundle you want to edit.
2. Select or create the bundle step/section you want to populate dynamically.
3. Open the Products tab within the step editor.
4. Click the Sync by tag button (located next to Add/edit products and Import from collection).
5. Enter your desired Shopify product tag in the input field and click Add.
6. Save your bundle.

Once a tag is added, a small number badge appears on the Sync by tag button to show how many active tags are currently assigned to that section.

Recognizing tag-owned items

Products added automatically by tag are marked with an Added by tag badge. To keep things consistent, their remove button and variant selector are disabled, since these products are managed by the tag rather than by hand.

Keeping the section in sync

The section stays up to date with your Shopify product tags automatically:

• Adding the tag to a product: Tag any eligible product with the section's tag in Shopify admin, and it appears in the section on the next reload.
• Creating a new tagged product: A brand-new active, published product created with the tag is picked up the same way.
• Removing the tag: Remove the tag from a product in Shopify admin, and it's automatically dropped from the section on the next reload.

Combining manual and tag-based products

You can still add products to a section manually alongside tag-based ones. If you manually add a product and later tag it with the section's tag, it stays as a single manual entry with full controls (not duplicated as a separate tag-owned entry).

Turning off auto-add for a section

To stop a section from auto-adding by tag, clear the Auto-add products by tag field and save. On reload, all tag-owned items are removed from the section. Any products you added manually stay in place.

Automatic Deduplication

If a product is already added manually to a section and subsequently receives a matching tag, Kitenzo preserves the manual entry. The product will appear only once in the section and will keep its manual editing controls.

Removing Tag Sync

To stop syncing products by a specific tag:

1. Open the bundle step and click the Sync by tag button.
2. Click the × icon on the tag chip you wish to remove.
3. Save your bundle.

Removing a tag immediately clears all associated tag-managed products from the bundle section. Any manually added products in the section will remain untouched.
