How to enable B2B in Kitenzo.
Kitenzo allows you to create bundles tailored specifically for your wholesale and business-to-business (B2B) customers. This guide will walk you through setting up your Shopify admin for B2B testing and configuring your first B2B-exclusive bundle to display custom pricing, quantity rules, and tiered discounts.
Understanding Shopify B2B structures
To use Shopify B2B, you must set up your B2B customers as companies. Companies control all of the customizations that apply to your customer experience, such as pricing, products, store content, payments, and delivery options.
Company vs. Company Location
- A company is the parent organization for one or more company locations. For businesses with multiple locations, you can keep all of their information in one company profile and customize all settings and details for each company location.
- A company location is the business that you are selling to in a B2B transaction. Each location can have its own tax ID, tax exemptions, shipping address, billing address, pricing, payment terms, and contacts. When you create a company, one company location is automatically created for that company.
If a B2B customer has access to more than one company location, they are prompted to choose which company location they want to purchase for when logging in to your online store. Your customers are displayed with the prices, payment terms, and checkout that you assigned to that company location.
Set up your Shopify B2B environment
Before configuring your bundle in Kitenzo, you need to ensure your Shopify admin is properly configured with your companies, markets, and B2B catalogs using the following Shopify guide https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/b2b
Step 1: Create a company in Shopify
You can create a company directly from your Shopify admin. When you create a company, you must enter a company name. Additional company information is optional and you can add it later.
1.Navigate to Companies:
From your Shopify admin, go to Customers and select Companies. Click Add company.
2.Enter company name and ID:
Enter a company name. This name is displayed to customers when they log in. You can also enter a company ID if you are syncing B2B data in Shopify to other systems, such as an ERP.
3.Select a main contact:
Select a main contact. You can select an existing customer profile or create a new one. Customer profiles must have an email address to be added as a main contact. The main contact is assigned ordering-only permission by default.
4.Enter addresses and location settings:
Enter a shipping address and a billing address. You can also add a unique location ID if you sync your data with external management systems.
5.Select catalogs and payment terms:
In the Catalogs section, select the catalogs to apply to the company. This catalog is automatically applied to the first company location that you create. In the Payment terms section, select the payment terms for the company.
6.Configure checkout preferences:
In the Checkout section, configure your settings. To allow your B2B customers to ship to a new one-time address at checkout, select Allow customers to ship to any one-time address. In the Orders submission section, choose Submit all orders as drafts for review if you want to review orders before approval, or select Automatically submit orders to approve them instantly.
7.Set up tax rules and save:
In the Taxes section, add your tax ID. For businesses using Shopify Tax in the UK or EU, this field changes to a VAT number and will be validated by Shopify. Choose whether to Collect tax, Don't collect tax, or Collect tax unless exemptions apply. Click Save, add any necessary metafields, and click Save again.
Step 2: Activate customer B2B access
- Navigate to Customers and click on the customer account you want to grant access.
- Find the Company section on their profile page.
- Open the dropdown menu and click Send B2B access email.
- The customer will receive an email containing a link to activate their B2B permissions and log into your store.
Step 3: Create a B2B market
- Go to Settings and select Markets.
- Click Create market.
- Name your market and choose All company locations in all regions as the market conditions to ensure your B2B locations are correctly covered.
Step 4: Configure your B2B catalog and pricing
- Go to Settings, navigate to Markets, and click Catalogs.
- Select Create catalog.
- When assigning a market, be sure to assign the B2B market you created in the previous step.
- Configure the price adjustment for your B2B customers, such as a 10% decrease.
- You can also set specific quantity rules or tiered pricing per product by hovering over a product in the list and clicking the plus (+) icon.
Step 5: Configure your B2B bundle in Kitenzo
With your Shopify backend prepared, you can now build a bundle that respects your B2B rules and targets your business customers.
Enable B2B features in Kitenzo
- Open the Kitenzo app and start creating a new bundle, or open an existing one.
- In the bundle settings, find the Wholesale / B2B section.
- Tick the Enable B2B settings checkbox.
When enabled, this makes the bundle wholesale-only: only B2B customers with a company account can view and purchase it. When a qualifying B2B customer visits, Kitenzo displays the catalog pricing, quantity rules, and volume pricing from their assigned price list. Payment terms are applied by Shopify at checkout, and any products that aren't in the customer's catalog show standard pricing.
Remember: A customer only qualifies as B2B once their company has a main contact assigned (Step 1) and they've activated B2B access (Step 2). Until then, they're treated as a non-qualifying customer.
Choose the non-B2B customer experience
A customer who has no B2B company account can't purchase a wholesale bundle, so you decide what they see if they land on the bundle page. Under Non-qualifying customers, choose one of the following:
- Show enquiry button: Customers see a button linking to a URL you provide. When you select this, enter the destination in the Button URL field (for example, a contact or registration page).
- Show enquiry form: Customers see an inline contact form with name, email, and message fields. When you select this, enter a Recipient email to receive submissions. If you leave it blank, submissions go to the shop owner email.
By default, B2B bundles use Show enquiry button.
- Pick a B2B company location market to offer the discount to B2B customers.
- Pick a Region market to offer the discount to your regular (non-B2B) customers.
